What’s your why?

Manhattan Community Rowing Club exists to grow the sport of rowing right here in the Little Apple. We want everyone to row!

What is rowing?

Rowing is an outdoor team sport for the adventurous spirit.

With skinny boats and long oars, the rowing motion is all about leverage and balance.

If you’re up for learning something new that will challenge you for the rest of your life, come join us!

Our club provides something for everyone, whether your motivation is competitive, recreational, or somewhere in between.

The primary physical benefits of rowing include increases in balance, coordination, flexibility, and core stability, in addition to the cardiovascular capacity commonly associated with our sport.

Add those physical benefits to the meditative effects of spending an hour of outdoor time on the water with consistently stunning sunset views, and you’ve got your daily endorphin fix.

Plus, learning to row is a lifelong challenge to overcome with both personal commitment and team rapport. Combining attributes of both individual and team sport experiences, becoming a rower gives you opportunities for personal accomplishments as well as social engagement.
